Peenburnishing for pipes and tubes

Using the central concept of the Bonded Burnisher System™ with coil spring stock as the medium, the above video shows how the tools not only smooth a surface, but introduce compressive forces, relieving destructive tensile forces. We call this variety of new tool a Peenburnisher™. By selecting the tool’s speed, diameter and pressure against the workpiece, a variety of compressive patterns and surface textures are created, enhancing fluid flow.

Such tools are useful for manufacture and maintenance of pipes and tubes in high pressure fluid installations such as steam turbines.
