A Super-Efficient Installation System for Walls, Roofs, Emergency Homes and Solar Structures

It was time to put new clapboards on a wall of our 1840’s house in the middle of Historic Newport, Rhode Island. The crew spend the first hours up and down the wall, installing the vapor barrier. Next day, the workers showed up early, pulled the first clapboard out of the stack, measured, cut, lined it up and nailed it. Then, clapboard number two, same ritual… and on…and on.

This photo, by David Carmack, is  from a This Old House video of another house. The video shows you the time consuming process in detail.

By lunchtime, about half the wall was up and it was starting to snow.

After a week of snow and cleanup, the crew came back and finished a beautiful job. Across the street a house was covered with the fragile white vapor barrier, and there it sat until Spring. Around the corner, another house had a four-foot exposed gap of white vapor barrier, sitting there – until Spring. Eventually, all our houses were clapboarded and, within days, painted.

PROBLEM: WHY SHOULD SUCH A REPETITIVE JOB TAKE SO LONG?

Why should families have to be exposed, leaking heat and risking water damage through a wet Winter?

OUR SOLUTION: MAKE IT EASIER AND FASTER TO APPLY A BUILDING’S WALLS AND ROOFS

We’ve patented an efficient, simple system for assembling all the parts of your building envelope in the factory, under controlled, factory conditions, dramatically reducing on-site installation time.

Now, we’re looking for companies integrate our new system with their products and market it to the public. If you’re interested, please talk with us.

The fine companies included below have not endorsed our work. They are, however, examples of the types of companies that would benefit by incorporating our inventions into their product lines.
